Let’s cut to it: senior portraits at a studio aren’t just about sitting pretty and smiling for an hour. They’re about capturing your energy, vibe, and the edge that makes you you. We’ll bring the lights, backdrops, and gear — but the magic happens when you know what’s coming and show up ready to own it. Here’s what you actually need to know to get the senior portraits you want.

Planning Session
Before your portraits we will have a planning session to make sure everything goes smoothly. We will discuss the shots you want to get during the session, chat about locations that fit your vibe, whether that’s an open field, downtown streets, or somewhere meaningful to you. Next we will help you figure out a few outfits—think variety: something casual, something a little dressed up, and something that just screams “this is me.” If you’ve got props, gear, or anything that you want to use; bring them with. Lastly we will talk about what you plan to do with you photos; whether you’re picking one epic shot for the wall or building a custom album that tells your whole senior story, we’ve got you covered. This session is all about capturing who you are right now, before this chapter closes and the next one begins.

Portrait Session
This session is meant to be fun, relaxed, and all about you. Make sure you’ve got your outfits packed and ready, along with any accessories or props you wanted to bring (yes, that includes your letterman jacket, guitar, or even your dog if we talked about it). Show up with clean, dry hair and light makeup if you’re wearing any—nothing too heavy unless that’s your thing. Try to eat something beforehand and stay hydrated; it seriously helps you look and feel better on camera. We’ll ease into things—no stiff, awkward poses here. We’ll guide you the whole way, but we also want your personality to come through, so if something feels “too posed,” just say so. This shoot is about capturing your story, not turning you into someone else. So relax, trust the process, and let’s make some killer images.

Photo Review
After your session, we’ll set up a time to go through your images together and pick out your favorites for prints, wall art, and albums. Don’t stress about every little detail in the proofs—things like flyaway hairs, skin blemishes, and distracting background stuff will be cleaned up during retouching. What you’re seeing is just the unedited version, kind of like a rough draft. Once we know which images you love most, we’ll give them a full touch up so they’re print-ready and frame-worthy.

These photos aren’t just for today—they’re for ten, twenty, fifty years from now. Senior year flies by, but your portraits will hold onto this moment forever. Let’s capture the real you and make sure it’s something worth keeping.
