As a wedding, corporate, and private events caterer serving the Twin Cities, Thao brings not only culinary expertise but also a rich and diverse background that shines through in everything she does.
Born in Vung Tau, Vietnam and raised in Minnesota, Thao graduated from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. After building a successful career in the corporate world, she made the bold decision to follow her true passion — food. We absolutely love seeing people take that leap and build a life around what truly lights them up. It’s inspiring to witness, and even more rewarding to support.
Thao studied culinary arts at The Art Institutes International Minnesota and quickly immersed herself in the industry, gaining hands-on experience at top restaurants like Oceanaire Seafood Room and the former La Belle Vie. Her journey didn’t stop in the kitchen — she’s also a certified wine expert with a WSET Level 3 from Napa Valley Wine Academy, and has deepened her knowledge by shadowing top winemakers in Napa and Sonoma.
Whether she’s crafting a wedding menu or speaking on a national stage about wine, Thao brings intentionality, elegance, and depth to every experience she creates. We’ve had the honor of helping her keep her brand visuals as refined and welcoming as her work—with portraits that reflect the professionalism and warmth she brings to Green Mangos Catering.
