Family portraits don’t always have to be posed with a forced smile. Instead- they can be fun, creative family portraits that will define YOUR family, not just any family. When photographing families, my main priority is discovering what they love to do together as a family and how they interact with one another. I want to capture what’s real about a family. For this family portrait session, the parents told me that as a family, they all like to be creative and make art. They also love weekend morning yogurt breakfast on the couch in their pajamas. So this wonderful family did a portrait session in PJs while eating yogurt and then they painted all over one of the studio backdrops. This is a session I will never forget because to me, these are the types of moments that are much more cherishable as a family.
