Outdoor Summer Senior Portraits | St. Anthony Main | Olivia

There are certain sessions that just hit different, and this one is definitely one of them. I’ve had the joy of photographing Olivia and her family for years now, so getting to capture her senior portraits felt like a full-circle moment. There is something so special about watching a family grow over the years, watching the kids you photographed as little ones turn into the confident young adults standing in front of your camera today.

Olivia knew exactly what she wanted for her session: a mix of outdoorsy, nature-filled backdrops paired with a more urban, architectural feel. We found the perfect spot for both in the St. Anthony Main area of Minneapolis, where the Mississippi riverbank and old stone ruins give way to cobblestone streets and the kind of brick and timber buildings you just cannot recreate in a studio. That contrast gave us so much to work with, soft natural light weaving through the trees along the riverfront, then bold century-old architecture just steps away.

And then the sun smiled on us. We caught the most incredible golden hour that evening, the kind of light that makes every photo feel a little bit magical against that historic backdrop. Sessions like this are exactly why I love what I do.

CELEBRATE YOUR SENIOR.
