Kristina Taylor is the owner of Taylor Lux Lash Studio on the Westside of Saint Paul, Minnesota. After taking a lash class in August of 2019, she went on to school to get her salon manager license. Kristina had been working full-time at a bank, which left her little time to take clients. She only had time to do lashes for maybe two clients in the evening. In June of 2020, she decided to dive full in and signed a lease for the studio at 674 Smith Ave. S. In the beginning she would book four clients a day and be working every day of the week. Having a seven and five-year-old, it just became too much. She has since learned to manage her appointments schedule and life balance better. What Kristina loves most about owning her own business is working for herself and making her schedule which she values because it allows her to spend more time with her girls doing this like getting them ready for school in the mornings and off the bus in the afternoons. Her daughters are both in gymnastics and the oldest is starting basketball while the younger is starting soccer.

Kristina loves to do natural and full-looking lashes on her clients. The benefit of lashes is that you can get up in the morning and not have to worry about curling or putting on mascara. Lashes last two to three weeks until you need to fill. The first appointment takes about two to two and a half hours and every fill after that takes about an hour. She made it a priority for clients to be comfortable so instead of a regular lash chair, she went a super comfortable leather recliner. Clients often get so comfortable that they fall asleep during their appointment!

Kristina has always loved the Westside and lived here in her 20s. She likes it because it’s a quiet, close-knit community and her girls even go to school here! She has dreams to teach and is working on getting her instructor license. She says the hardest part of owning a business is putting herself out there. Show her some love on Instagram and go to her website to book an appointment!
